This would be a perfect gun to try patched balls in. I did this in my rifle/shotgun combo 13/16 bore Husky. The fired patches showed they worked perfectly. If lubed with an oil or grease that works well with BP fouling, they will ensure clean shooting.
The patched, undersized balls shot better than the larger, slightly over bore sized balls.
