Re: Paradox Competition in Washington State - Aug 7

The Paradox shoot had 14 competitors. I don't have the scores. The course of fire was 20 shots at clays with shotshells and six shots (three pairs) with bullets/ball at lion targets. Each clay hit was 2 points. Hits on the lions were into shooter's choice of a 10 point area (brain) or a 5 point area (heart). So total possible was 100 points.

There was also a sporting clays course. The results of the shotgun competition are here. Bear in mind that this was a world class course. Some of the shooters were using Paradox guns on the clay course:

SxS 12 Bore Shotgun
SxS Hammer Shotgun
SxS Small Bore Shotgun

Holding the event coincidental with the Western Open had advantages but it also had disadvantages. Unfortunately, the double rifle competition was canceled by the local authorities shortly before the day of the event. There were dozens of disappointed DR shooters who had to be told of the change. Organizers are already in the process of finding a better location for next year.

All in all, it was a lot of fun and represented a decent start for the event.
