I was looking at an 12 bore english double recently that had straight rifling. It had twin folding sights marked 50 and 100 and obviously was set up to shoot balls. So my question is what advantage if any would straight rifling have over a smooth bore? Would such an outfit make a 100 yard elk gun in the brush or should I wait to find something else with a slow twist for round ball?
