Very interesting...

Thinking of the Westley Richards Super magnum Explora with 2 3/4" case, I believe you should be able to duplicate that one with eeeeez.
A 750 grain leadbullet @ 15-1600 Ft/sec would be realistic.
You could use shortened .700 nitrocase and develop a "light" nitro load.
