18 pound + probably. Maybe 19. From what I am told you need that weight to offset recoil to some degree plus I had mine built with longer than average barrel. I will probably stick to a max of 14 drams (385 grains) if I can shoot that. Just no need for more... I only hunt deer so probably not but would love to go boar hunting with one.
