BH50- That slug for the 20b looks pretty worked out from that water jug incident. Have you put one of those through an animal yet? I'd be concerned about penetration with something that went pancake like that on water jugs. Same goes with hollow-points on thick game, I feel much more comfortable with something that'll hold together and get through there than go with a hollow point in a .458 bore rifle. I use cheap hollow points in my .458 bolt rifle for kicking pine cones around at the ranch, but I wouldn't go hunting anything bigger than deer with them. In .458 I stick with a SNRN or flat point design for hunting. Have you ever cast those sabot slugs in harder alloy and put them through your waterjug test? --Tinker |
