No offense taken Joe. I've not run into the "race to the bears" folks, but have seen other hunters and not stalked a bear when others appeared to be glassing him first. The majority of bears I've seen were sub-six-footers...including some doily bears...but I've also seen a few seven-footers. Just hiking over one ridge, or up a backpacking trail a mile or two leaves almsot every other hunter behind you.

I also recommend hunting during the week when there aren't s many hunters out and about.
