After further thought--
Picking one caliber/rifle is impossible!!
A proper response would be region/situation specific--
300 WSM Browning- 180 gr-best Western allrounder
7mm08- 140 gr-Best Southern whitetail allrounder
300 ultramag with 200 grain partitions-Western long range
7 Mag-150 gr for Southern beanfields.
The long range 300 ultra may be being ursurped by the 338-378 WBY for Moose/Elk. Time will tell
