I spoke to an Australian hunting agent about a Kamchatka (splg?) brown bear hunt and also about using my 9.3x74R double (Valmet/Tikka) as the rifle. He stated it was not advisable as the action might freeze up. Myself I have no idea about this as heat and sand is usually more of an issue here than snow, sleet and ice. Cold! Except for that possible problem I would have thought a double plus or minus .400 would be pretty ideal. What do our Northern Hemisphere hunters here think? |
