That 280 packs a lot into a small package. Did you ever question as to whether or not it was a bit on the light side for moose? I know it will kill them, as a friend of mine shot a huge 70" moose up in the Yukon with his pet 270 with 150 grain Noslers. That's too light for my taste, but I'd probably be ok with it on the smaller Shiras.
