Nitro, I'm downloading those links as I type this. I found a few other related sites. The firearms law seeems a bit more relaxed than the UK system. You have to pass a firearms safety test and apply for a Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL). Handguns are restricted, but hunting rifles aren't. The Canadian system allows non-residents to apply for a PAL - which is handy. I should be able to import my guns, but it will probably be easier to sell them. They're not that special and I can always get some more.

The posting (if it comes off) is for two years & if I don't get it I'll probably be off to Northern Ireland instead, but thats OK as well. Probably not quite as many moose or bears, though!. As for being a lucky bugger, they could have sent me to South Africa - where there is a British Army Training Team, but no posts for my trade!

Anyway, in the meantime I've got everything crossed!
