yesterday, working out in a cutblock I noticed a big bull moose way out on the other side of the block. He was heading across and had nearly left the block when I noticed him(I was working after all, not searching the horizon for game) I let out a couple grunts just to see what he would do. He stopped and looked over. I got down low and let a few more go, I am not really that good at it, but he started coming my way. I got into a safe spot and continued calling the big fellow.
I managed to get him well within 60 yards, he was not the biggest moose in the world, but respectable, and the first legal one I have seen this year. Unfortunately the season is closed right now and I am not allowed to hunt while at work. So, at this point I decided to show myself and tell the big lad I was just fooling with his head, he just glared at me with the breath from his nostrals(sp?) showing in the cold air. After a few moments he turned around and left me. But what good fun!!!!
