We are developing a slighlty larger, bulkier Pine Martin on Haida Gwaii (Queen Charoltte islands) off the West coast at approximately Prince Rupert. These Pine Martins have "taken' to eating the small sitka deer on the island. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-c...-deer-1.4232618 That video of the Fisher toying with the fox was incredible. I'm thinking it would fairly easily for it to kill the fox and was just toying with it. They can move incredibly fast - and when "trucking" look like a brown streak about 6' long. Martin's too. A red squirrel is pretty much "toast" if a Martin goes after it. Look like a snake going round a tree at 90mph- just a blur. Fisher and Martin both bring good prices, seems to me. |
