I’m not into sticks and string….. and I didn’t really know much about Fred Bear until 2014. That was the year that I first hunted Alaska…in the Alaska Range and the area that I hunted happened to be an area that Fred Bear liked to hunt. I actually stayed in the same cabin that he used. Anyway I was lucky enough to shoot a monster BC Boo on that trip that just happened to make the B&C all time record book. And this is the interesting part…. I found out that way back in 1959 , the year I was born and Alaska become a state, Fred Bear also bow shot a massive BG boo. Apparently his is the biggest bull recorded from that area and my bull is apparently the second biggest…and maybe it still is.
I think of my Alaskan hunts often.

THAT is an incredible story and history..congrats on the huge caribou.. I love hunting those .. used to go on "do-it-yourself" drop off hunts for them... take a plane in, get dropped off for a week and you are on your own.. First time I did it was in the infamous Mulchatna herd.. got to nice caribou and a wolf the first 2 days..
Fred Bear was my hero since I was a very young boy.. first stick bow was a Fred Bear.. First recurve was a Bear.. First compound was a Bear Blacktail bow.. an amazing man and hunter..
Back when I was a kid they still showed hunting on tv.. was not considered that it is today by the liberal morons..they showed him hunting all over the world..
Congrats again..great story..
