I’m not into sticks and string….. and I didn’t really know much about Fred Bear until 2014. That was the year that I first hunted Alaska…in the Alaska Range and the area that I hunted happened to be an area that Fred Bear liked to hunt. I actually stayed in the same cabin that he used. Anyway I was lucky enough to shoot a monster BC Boo on that trip that just happened to make the B&C all time record book. And this is the interesting part…. I found out that way back in 1959 , the year I was born and Alaska become a state, Fred Bear also bow shot a massive BG boo. Apparently his is the biggest bull recorded from that area and my bull is apparently the second biggest…and maybe it still is.

I think of my Alaskan hunts often.
