I read this earlier today.. interesting read for sure.. was shocked someone was killing or try ing to kill a bear with a .22 rimfire.. IMHO, everything has to be perfect for that to happen before you are dead yourself...

The 44 Mag also surprised me.. if I read this correctly, its been shown to be 100% effective in all the reports.. Surprised me from the fact griz/brown bear are huge compared to the ones we have here in MT or lower 48.. Guess shot placement is everything..
