I had a similar thought DD, in that the wolf hides are undersized/small, for our BC wolves. I'm thinking likely Alaska as their alpha males run 140 to 145pounds or so, some 35 pounds under the BC wolves that were introduced to Yellowstone.
I saw a biologist report somewhere that male wolves weighing 175 to 180 pounds were sold to the US in that first bunch of 50.




YES Sir, we only get the biggest and the best to kill our moose and elk.. No little sissy 145 pounders for this task..

I shot a wolf in Alaska.. he was in that 130-140lb range.. have since seen the ones introduced around YNP...they are HUGE in comparison...
