whats the old cord on the antler?

did the elk had it around before? there are deer found dead from time to time who had all kind of stuff from cord over rusty chain wire fence to barb wire snarled with the antlers.
deers having the stupid attitude to play with such stuff or realy attack it until they can't get loos anymore.
