Yes I think eye into back of skull is only way, I think she was "amazing" & very lucky to kill that bear, I've shot hundreds of animals with a .22LR from Civet Caracal Warthog Antelope Deer of many species, but a couple of stags have only been knocked out, even with that perfect side on temple shot, bullet never made it into the skull only cracked it, could be stags have a slightly reinforced skull from the antler pedicles ?

Even a .22Mag with 50gr (was a special Federal load) slugs failed on a couple of Chital/Axis stags but one in the chest behind the leg dropped them within 20 feet !
