There is a small herd of what the French press calls kangaroos but that I assume to be wallabies due to their small size that has settled for several decades in an area of the Rambouillet forest (south of Paris); they come from stock that escaped a fenced wildlife park. They are mainly known to people because several are run by cars each year. They are not on the list of species that can be legally hunted in France however I assume they should be subject to a culling plan by the relevant administration bodies as non-native and possibly invasive species.
