Very nice! Several years ago I was hunting elk up high on the mountain in late November. Lots of snow and was a dark cloudy day. I saw no fresh tracks and by late afternoon I was headed down the trail trying to get back to the truck before dark. I saw a snowshoe rabbit coming my way up the trail. I stopped and he literally ran over my boots on his way by. I was wondering what would cause such unusual behavior when I spotted his pursuer. A Pine Martin was coming up the trail right in his tracks. If I hadn't scared him reaching for my camera he might have ran over my boots too. I always wondered how that Pine Martin could catch a rabbit but he obviously thought he could. |
