It was the second weekend of the special white-wing zone and we had another great day near Pearsall TX. We thought we were arriving early enough, but some other lease members poached our spot from last week (in the corner) by some trees, (you can see the sorry s-o-b's in the distance) 's so it was a good thing I brought a pop-up canopy to wait out the afternoon heat. Waiting for them to fly... The distinctive sound of Emily's .28 Gauge announces itself from across the field. The collared doves are much larger than the white wings and mourning doves. Camp at the end of the day They grow a lot of peanuts around here. Fortunately they also grow a lot of milo. So now (thanks to my friends) my youngest knows lots of stories about me. Until next time... |
