Today we were hunting at a property near Pearsall Texas, where the season opens for White Wing doves only for two weekends in advance of the regular south zone opener.

Bird on a wire...

A limit of 15 White Wings, including 1 Mourning dove (you are allowed 2) and 2 Eurasian Collared Doves, an invasive species of which you can shoot as many as you want. It's still about 100 degrees in the afternoons, so by 5:30 I was done. I was shooting my Benelli Super Black Eagle, my favorite dove gun for early season shooting.

A great ending to another great day in the field.
