Re: Ditch the camo...

Camo is fun for kids, especially when they get excited about a new shirt or jacket and an upcoming hunt.

Unless your going to get into a ghillie suit, the rest is (to me) just sugar frosting. All those adverts that claim "Spot the hunter - if you can..." well, it's easy to hide something in a photograph.

Reality and those pesky 3 dimensions are what makes you stand out. Even the ghillie suit is worthless if you move around.

The military teaches you that to truly camo is to dimensionally brake up your silhouette.

If you have to wear camo in south Texas, the only one that comes close is a product called Brush County that looks like a tangle of mesquite thorn, but other than the fun factor, I think it's kind of a waste of money.

2 rules that I learned long ago about hunting and observing wildlife;


1) Wear green (or brown).

2) Hold still.


All that being said, pissing away money for the fun of it is enjoyable sometimes.
