I suspect a bunch of this was filmed in Glacier National Park, Northern Montana - the upper part of the park runs up into Alberta and there, is called Waterton National Park. Breathtakingly beautiful and most of the park is "State's" side.
Ripp - you need to take your family there where the kids are large enough to appreciate it.

I have been there numerous times..the last time I drove there on the Harley --crossed the border and went into Banff..incredible place..unbelievable views..

Banff is an incredible place--really like it there albeit all the tourists (which I was one of ) ...but once you get out and start hiking, have a lot of it to yourself 4 miles or more up the trail..
