I missed it. I hunted mountains north of White Sulpher Springs and the Sweetgrass Hills as a resident. Elk hunting for nonresidents in Montana is a drawing. The competition for tags if fierce and expensive. In case you don't know Montana is a big place. Roughly 400 miles by 700 miles. Lots of places to hunt, but you better know where you want to go first. I would not drive out from KY without knowing where you are going or if there are elk there. Your best bet is to contact some outfitters. Outfitters have special tags available. You night try to get to get to this show. There will be a bunch of the Montana boys there. Eastern Sports and Outdoor show. |
