how was it done? they were riding with a 3-5 greyhounds on the side so long as they see a cojote than chase him till the end? I have no imagination how long a coyote can run of such hounds.

My cousins in Southern Saskatchewan used 3 or 4 greyhounds and 2 mastiffs for coyote 'hunting'. They'd drive around the 'farm' until they saw some yotes, then let the hounds out.
The hounds would catch and stop the coyotes, then the mastiffs would blast through them bowling them over or throwing them into the air and the hounds and mastiffs would then kill them.

This is the story as I was told when I was a kid.

When in that area during my basic training, we (recruits) used rental cars for chasing coyotes in the fields - lots of fun - for us 'kids'. Damn hard on the cars, but a good use of adrenalin. Coyotes always got away - HA!
