For me, if I ever get a chance to shoot one, it will be the old way. Either a bow or .45-70. As for recommendation, from what I have seen it's subjective based on the recommender's preferences(and depending on state very restrictive to almost anything goes). I know of one person who shot one with a .50 Beowulf-and came back saying don't do it. He got his animal but said it was like trying to stop a Volkswagen with a BB gun.
