Ripp - what distances are you commonly shooting, and do you spot them or do you call them in? In South Texas, you can typically call them in, though admittedly some are smarter than others and will hold just out out site, or offer only a glimpse. I had an old rancher tell me that If I was going to call coyotes be ready because when they come in they come right in to your lap. I didn't know if he meant in general or there on that particular ranch, but in my experience he was right. In the late evening you could get them to come in as close as 10 yards. An open sited lever action or a shotgun was best at that point. |
