Not sure which unit ovis was hunting in, but most places in the state require the ram to be full curl or better, or 8 years old. There are a few (maybe one?) units where any ram is legal and there are drawing permits for ewes in a few units. All open areas allow the harvest of one ram per year by a hunter. Of course, places are drawing units where you have to drawn for a permit, but most areas are open. Some grizzly areas are allowing 2 grizzlies per year now. These are the areas that the moose have hammered pretty hard by bears and wolves. Can't answer what ovis' rifle is chambered for, but the tent looks like a Kifaru to me. |
