Believe they were taken in Valemont, B.C., 2 hours East of here. After the frozen apples I'd suspect. Note the little brown apples shown in the middle picture are missing in the bottom 'shot'.

Much the same thing happens across the street from me (every other year), but with crows and ravens eating the apples, not moose.
