This past spring bear hunt on the Alaska peninsula was the coldest and snowiest I have seen in the past 33 years. Spring hunts are typically when all the birds are returning and singing and flowers are popping up all across the tundra. I love it this year it snowed the first week of the hunt- which at least helped as the client wounded a bear and it took three days of tracking to catch it up in this pass where the snow was still over 30 feet deep. By the time my friend Lon Paul and I were able to sort things out and kill it our feet were alot colder than the bears. |
