This past spring bear hunt on the Alaska peninsula was the coldest and snowiest I have seen in the past 33 years. Spring hunts are typically when all the birds are returning and singing and flowers are popping up all across the tundra. I love it this year it snowed the first week of the hunt- which at least helped as the client wounded a bear and it took three days of tracking to catch it up in this pass where the snow was still over 30 feet deep. ![]() By the time my friend Lon Paul and I were able to sort things out and kill it our feet were alot colder than the bears. ![]() |
