I live about an hour away from a place called Fossil Rim in Central Texas. They have all kinds of animals on display for a "Drive Through" photo safari. Interesting place to go every now and then. A couple of years ago, we were passing from one pasture into another. Just at the gate, there was a large herd of Mouflon sheep and other exotic goats. About 75 yards away, under a large shaded tree, was a huge Bongo Bull. All the cars were pulled over and the people were out petting, feeding, and generally going Ape Sh*t over the the sheep and goats. No one paid any attention to the Bongo laying right out in the open. It just struck me as typical of the Urban dwellers' lack of understanding of what is truly important in nature. |
