Seems to me, after watching the video - one of the Malamutes might have been in heat, or one in the area, perhaps away from those in the yard - a 4th or 5th? kept separate due to condition. I was not surprised to see the dogs put the run on the wolf from their yead, his with tail between his legs in submission. Certainly he/she was curious.

What surprised me, was not seeing what I'd hope for in the entire video.

That would be a red spray hitting the snow on the off side of that wolf, before it even got close to the road, Nice hide for a hat or gun case, Eh- or SSS.
