I haven't been on this forum in a while so on my return and reading through posts this one and you elk made my day. I am a long time fan of the .264. I have taken somewhere around 100 deer with that cartridge. I currently own two of them. One is a custom Encore with a 26" tube. The other is a 700BDL with a 24" tube. The Encore wears a V-Tac and the Remmy wears a Unertl 10x. I use the Encore crop sniping. It has been awsome. Most of my shots in the beans are over 300 yards with a good many over 400 yards. My longest deer kill was 620 yards. reflex264
