Now - question is, do you want to hunt wolves, or kill wolves? Killing wolves is easy, mind you, some might need 'putting down'.

You need:

12 - wolf traps - the more, the merrier.
1 - haunch of muttom (dog, lamb, calf, deer, etc will do)
1- .303 or other junker that can stand weather.

Find a good spot near a tree to tie the rifle to, pointed down. Tie the leg of lamb or whatever to a branch, hanging down (about 7' up), with a bungie cord. Tie a cord around the leg, up over the branch and down to the trigger of the rifle. Load the rifle - blank or whatever. Spread the traps all around, leaving good channels of approach. They need not be well buried. Human scent on them is OK.

The wolf pack comes in to the bait, see & probably smell the traps but gather in to the bait along the open 'slots'. One will jump and grab the bait - BANG - they scatter and some will get 'trapped'. An aquaintance caught 6 in one set. I think he used a number of traps.
