All yearling cubs, black or grizzlies become food for scavengers if they live long enough to starve, or food for other bears, coyotes or wolves most likely. 2 year olds light survive, if there weren't any preditors around - fat chance as the their father probably roaming around inside 2 to 4 square miles and they're merely a food item.
