Quote: 500: All dogs, particularly those that make noise, are wolf magnets. Wolves hear their baying, are attracted, find them and kill them. Hound hunting is effectively a thing of the past. It is a heritage of generations destroyed by unmanaged wolves. Yesterday yet another fellow told me of his three bear hounds all killed by wolves, the two females with one or two bites to the chest {the dogs probably lying down in submission}, the male torn to pieces. Quiet dogs are also at risk as would be any dog not restrained by a leash, that is, not close to a person. The leash takes care of the objection that dogs might be used to run elk and deer and also is what any tracker would want to do anyway, as a dog let loose in the forest is a dead dog. So wolves continue to devastate our deer, elk and moose populations, with total devastation the result in the Lolo and now our area hit very hard. And they are a continuous threat to dogs and livestock. If you hear bitterness in my attitude toward so-called environmentalists and their Federal stooges that foisted the wretched Endangered Species Act on us, you hear right. The wolf is a disease organism that should be wiped out. |
