Snow is down, but deep within walking distance. The south face of my land causes it to burn off snow earlier than any other area for quite a ways around, and thus makes for the condition that attracts large herds very early. I went for a skijaunt last night and was in snow varying from dirt to 3 inches to 4 feet or so. Snowshoed up thru the timber to the logging roads and then broke trail to the north side of the mountain and skiied around. Watched the sun go down and then came back in the dark. Crescent moon guided me home. The sunset before: |
