Re: How it's done...

RIPP: I didn't mentioned above that this animal is being donated to the local Food Bank for the needy. I donate one big one every year, and it has to go to the butcher whole, not cut up. I have to get it home and skin it and then haul the carcass to him, and then he cuts and wraps and the Food Bank collects it.

Tinker: It gave me a bunch of trouble, mostly as I had to try to keep the kneecap from sliding around as it makes me want to puke when it does, really nauseating. Otherwise, I don't have much pain except a dull ache. Stitches were pulled Monday and it is healing well. Falling on it is the biggest threat at this point. I'm CAREFUL and slow.

Worse was on Sunday eve in a driving rain. My youngest shot her first deer, a big doe just at dusk. I was there with her, and we had a long track. A nice big chunky one, tho, at 145 lbs on the hoof {we brought it out whole as that was shot on my ranch here and tho shot in thick timber and died in same, we were able to slide it down the wet timber and on to a track where we got the ATV. Needless to say, she's psyched!!! }

Now, 2 down, 4 to go for the rest of us in the family.
