Quote: Actually, county. Alot of guys shoot chukar and pheasants, etc elsewhere, but here in logging country, long ago it seems grouse shooting got married to pickups and ATV's and makes for relaxation, tooling around the logging roads. Like you, I grew up brushbusting, shooting mostly pheasants and rabbits back in New Jersey! Your singleshot would have blended in well with my crowd of friends; I and one friend both had Ithaca Supersingle 66's {his a 20, mine a 12}, another of my buddy's had a Mossberg 12 ga bolt action and another a real doozy, the Real Deal for us, a Fox Sterlingworth 12 ga double. That gun eventually convinced me to part with both my Ithaca and a pile of lawn-mowing dollars to buy a...Stevens 311, a 12 gauge with 30 inch barrels. A real club if there ever was one! Anyway, we love walking. |
