Re: Hog hunting comes to America

I love hunting hogs. It is very challenging and exciting. I hunted mine by stalking, but the dogs are interesting too. Where I hunted the prefered dog was a catahoula curr, a very impresive dog. They only use one due to the possibility two could kill the hog before a hunter can get to them. Thats a baddass dog. These animals are tough! I shot mine five times with a .338 winchester magnum, the last shot was a finishing shot. All shots were heart and lung shots except the spine shot to finish. After hitting him the first time at 30 yards he bore down in my direction and the shooting was on. A very exciting hunt. Two bowhunters had to climb trees to avoid hogs. I think my next hunt I will take a .458 with 350 grain bullets. I recommend the Cumberland Plateau area of TN for scenery and good hunting. I hunted at Wilderness Hunting Lodge. Nice folks and great food. A fun weekend.
