I'll take some pictures this weekend of the mods that I did. On a side note, I've spoken with the gun smith Cabela's a few times in regards to the left tumbler shearing. They believe that possibly there is a hardness issue with a lot of .72's they received from the manufacture. Its happened before and Pedersoli fixes the problem. On their request I've been sent a couple tumblers and sears so that I can modify and test them. I will then send these to Cabela's for testing by them. They will then ship them to Pedersoli for evaluation as a possible production modification. The modification increases the notch depth about 50% and slightly reduces the back angle. The depth increase prevents shearing of the metal under heavy recoil and the angle reducing allows for light trigger pull (ie reduced shear on notch pressure. So far I've had no tumbler failures with this mod, and I've shot up to 185 grains triple 7. What I'm forgetting to say, is that this shearing happens when the left lock is fully cocked. The second modification I'm working on is a second cross bolt through lock plates. This would had additional strength to the stock wrist area. The plates could then carry more of the load through this area. Colorado |
