At the BP handgun club, I was told commercial bore butter melts too easily in our summer climate. A 75:25 or 50:50 blend of beeswax and olive oil is better. Barisol as a liquid or spray is useful for lubing and cleaning a BP gun after using soapy warm water. Clean with soapy water. Then use barisol. Dirty spots will be exposed. Clean. The barisol will evaporate, leaving behind a protective finish. Of course snap some caps to ensure the nipples are clean and open before loading. I cleaned my Kodkak years ago. Lubed it for storage. Hopefully fine. I think I had a booklet instructing me back then. Advice appreciated. Any good shooting black powder ml video links that can be recommended? |
