Yes indeed. The muzzle treatment is also unique to "Period" German made Jaegers rifles.
Many were simply filed out in the lands and grooves. Even American makers of the 1800's did this to some guns. This filing out of the muzzle, allows the loading of tight ball and patch combinations, which results in much more accurate shooting.
In Germany, the filing sometimes was quite elaborate as seen in this rifle. Today's makers in the States call this "treatment" a Hienied or Heinied crown.
