I just drew a Kansas Muzzleloader only American pronghorn antelope permit for this October. There's only an estimated 2000 animals in this state and normally less than 150 permits are issued each year. Less than 20 muzzleloader permits. Always a tough hunt with a muzzleloader. No scopes are allowed so it is mechanical sights only. This limits ranges to around 120 yards for everyone but the liars. I imagine I'll use a Traditions Pursuit Pro inline loaded with 100 grains of Triple 7 and a 300 grain sabot. Ranges are long and the antelope are very wary. Should prove exciting. |
