Hi guys it's a 62 caliber. The barrel is a Standard Colorain "jaeger" contour, but I did draw file it a bit myself to give the waist a bit more shape and drop it backwards about 2" But most of the lines you see on it are close to how I got the barrel. The stock is 100% hand made and I like to slim the wood to follow the lines of the metal, so that is the reason I like to file the waist back just a bit. By shaping the for-stock that way the rod channel will have a slight bend and it gives a very nice shape to the profile, but more importantly, it puts a side-load to the rod so it never jumps forward in recoil, and it also never wiggle loose when climbing over deadfalls or scrambling up hills. |
