Lyman Re-call

http://www.guns.com/2018/03/28/lyman-issues-recall-on-black-powder-rifles-pistols/

Connecticut-based Lyman on Wednesday issued a warning on several brands of black powder rifles and pistols manufactured by the company last year.

The recall includes Deerstalker, Great Plains, Great Plains Hunter, Trade Rifle, Plains Pistol as well as Black Powder Kits and replacement barrels made between March 1 and Dec. 22, 2017. Excluded from the notice are left hand Great Plains and Great Plains Hunter models. The recall, for barrels which fall in the serial number range A595960 to A599025, is due to a potential separation in the breech plug, a safety hazard. The company says there have been few firearms affected and no reported injuries.

Lyman is asking those with possibly impacted muzzleloaders to stop using the firearm, find and check the serial number to determine if their model is included in the recall, and contact the company by phone or email. For those with guns that fall within the scope of the safety notice, Lyman will provide instructions on how to send the weapon back to the company for replacement at no charge to the customer. The manufacturer is also offering to provide owners a replacement barrel and tang.
