If what you are using, Gordon, works for you carry on. I use NO water based lubes for hunting. They, if wet, or capable of absorbing water will rot your bore. We use oils as in Neetsfoot Oil, or Track's Mink oil for hunting. It is hot at Hefley Creek Rendezvous, if you call temps from 90F to 120F as being hot. I do, and yet with our water based lubes for target shooting, we have no trouble with dryness of fouling. If you were to wait 4 or 5 minutes before loading again, yes - it would be crunchy loading and not conducive to accurate shooting. We load right away after shooting, then walk to the next target - capping or priming once on the line to shoot. Easy loading and accurate shooting is the result. |
