Thank you VonGruff. That is the basic idea. Artwork doesn't simply have to please the eyes. It is possible to make forms of art that are functional. I can acknowledge the statement "A fancy rifles doesn't shoot any better than a plane rifle" True. But it shoots no worse either. I take great pains to make sure my rifles shoot reliably and accurately. I am delighted when they are used for their intended purpose. This one should be used in the next few months to fill a freezer with delicious venison. I hope so anyway. If my rifles were only to be looked at, and not used for hunting there would be no reason for the work I do to make them accurate. No mater how fancy a rifle is, it is still a RIFLE and it is made to hunt. I hope to be getting some pictures of this rifle with deer that is was used to harvest. That always makes me feel good. |
